Using this site

HomebrewNumbers provides free homebrewing calculators. No account is required and there is no charge to use anything on the site.

Accuracy

Every formula is tested against hand-derived values, and where a source publishes its own worked example that example is used as the test (see the About page). Even so, results are informational. Several standard brewing formulas are empirical fits rather than exact derivations, and real results depend on your equipment, ingredients and process in ways no calculator can see.

Bottle conditioning in particular deserves its own caution: over-priming can produce enough pressure to break glass. Confirm fermentation has genuinely finished through stable gravity readings, and treat any calculated priming figure as a starting point to check against your own experience rather than an instruction to follow blindly.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. HomebrewNumbers is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the calculators or reliance on their output.

Scope

These are arithmetic tools for people brewing at home. They say nothing about consumption, and nothing here is advice about it. Follow the law where you live regarding home production of alcohol.

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means the revised terms apply.
